Props for Creative Commons

I saw something today that I greatly respect, and an example that I hope I can follow. I recently heard about musician and worship leader Casey Darnell. What I just recently discovered, however, is that his music is licensed under Creative Commons, meaning that he is giving permission for people to freely use his music for non-commercial purposes as long as he is attributed for his work. That is really cool. While I like to think that most worship leaders feel that way about their music, the fact is that to be completely legal about it, you have to jump through some hoops and spend some money to use a lot of the songs out there. So the fact that Casey is making it clearly stated that his songs are free to use, sing, and worship with is awesome. Granted he’s not signed to any label, which makes it much easier to use licensing schemes such as this, but I still greatly respect him for what he’s done. His songs are pretty good too.
